Introduction
There’s a certain energy in Oxford, Mississippi — a blend of collegiate pride, Southern hospitality, and weekend buzz that peaks every time Ole Miss comes alive. Photographing Courtyard Oxford MS was about capturing that momentum and translating it into a visual story that feels current, confident, and unmistakably Marriott.
This project was especially meaningful because it marked the completion of a full property remodel, transforming the hotel into a destination that feels as elevated as the guests it serves. The goal wasn’t just to document new spaces — it was to create imagery that communicates scale, comfort, and a sense of arrival for visitors coming to town for SEC weekends, campus visits, and extended stays.
About the Property
Located just minutes from the University of Mississippi, the Courtyard Oxford MS has been completely reimagined with today’s traveler in mind.
Key highlights of the property include:
- Two-story guest rooms with private entrances leading directly to the rooftop
- A large rooftop deck and entertaining space designed for gathering and social connection
- A bold, modern design following a full interior and exterior remodel
- Exceptionally large guest rooms, ideal for families, alumni, and high-profile SEC visitors
The renovation brings a fresh architectural rhythm to the property — clean lines, open circulation, and spaces that feel intentionally designed rather than simply updated.

Photography Goals for This Project

Special emphasis was placed on:
- The rooftop spaces
- Flow between guest rooms and shared areas
- Scale and comfort of the renovated interiors
How Amber Pinnacle Approached the Shoot
This was a two-full-day shoot, allowing time to photograph the property intentionally rather than rushing through spaces.
Our approach included:
- Detailed pre-shoot communication to align on priorities and sequencing
- On-site staging and refinement to ensure each space photographed cleanly and consistently
- Careful planning around light and timing, especially for rooftop and exterior imagery
- Capturing spaces as they’re meant to be experienced — calm, open, and welcoming
Shooting over multiple days ensured flexibility and allowed each area to be photographed at its strongest.
